Tax Certiorari
Tax certiorari is the legal process by which the courts review a real property assessment. Generically speaking, it encompasses the entire assessment review process from filing a grievance complaint with the local Board of Assessment Review through judicial review of the assessment. The firm also deals with issues related to real property tax administration including but not limited to property tax exemptions.The firm moves quickly to correct and reduce property assessments so that they reflect proper full market values and then makes application to the appropriate municipal authorities to obtain property tax refunds and/or corrected tax bills.
Condemnation
Condemnation, also known as “Eminent Domain”, is the power of the Government (Federal, State, City, County, Town, District, Authority) to take property for a public purpose, need, or benefit. The government can take all or part of any parcel of land. The United States and New York State constitutions as well as New York State law requires the government to provide just compensation for the property interest(s) taken and/or adversely affected. We protect our clients’ interests throughout the eminent domain proceedings and ensure that the client is properly compensated.

Land Use and Zoning
The firm represents clients before local zoning boards of appeal with regard to applications for area and use variances, special exceptions and special permits as well as seeking review of determinations of administrative officials and interpretations of the zoning code.
